Com a \u00faltima activitat del curs, els voluntaris elaboren cada any el cens de tortugues aut\u00f2ctones en el barranc de l&#8217;Horteta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En este paratge protegit, reserva de fauna, hi ha catalogats m\u00e9s de 30 exemplars d&#8217;esta esp\u00e8cie. El cens permet, a m\u00e9s, controlar i retirar altres esp\u00e8cies de tortugues invasores que posen en perill la conservaci\u00f3 de les esp\u00e8cies pr\u00f2pies. Durant cinc dies, els grups de voluntaris que hi participen s&#8217;equipen per a introduir-se en esta reserva natural i revisar els paranys, que han elaborat, per a capturar les tortugues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Els voluntaris del Centre Ambiental prenen la mida dels exemplars, els pesen i anoten les dades en la fitxa corresponent. Algunes marques permeten identificar cadascun dels exemplars. Cada tortuga <em>mauremys leprosa<\/em> t\u00e9 una fitxa particular que ajuda els voluntaris a fer un seguiment de la seua evoluci\u00f3 i mantindre el control de la poblaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El voluntariat ambiental Torrent Verd organitza al llarg de l\u2019estiu tot un seguit d\u2019activitats destinades a la millora i la conservaci\u00f3 dels espais naturals de la ciutat.
