La jornada ha comen\u00e7at a les\u00a010h amb una multitudin\u00e0ria concentraci\u00f3 al costat de la Font de les Granotes, des d&#8217;on, a continuaci\u00f3, ha donat inici la marxa c\u00edvica. Sota el lema \u2018Som\u00a0essencials\u2019, els ve\u00efns i ve\u00efnes de Torrent han descendit per l&#8217;Avinguda al\u00a0Vedat fins a la pla\u00e7a Bisbe Benlloch i, una vegada all\u00ed, s&#8217;ha realitzat la lectura del manifest del Dia Internacional de les Persones Majors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seguidament, el Centre de Majors Verge de l&#8217;Olivar ha acollit la inauguraci\u00f3 de \u2018Els\u00a0nostres\u00a0majors\u2019, una exposici\u00f3 del Club de Fotografia de Torrent que mostra en imatges la import\u00e0ncia del paper dels nostres majors en la societat. I, despr\u00e9s, s&#8217;ha efectuat el nomenament de Carlos Fern\u00e1ndez Marco i Dolores Bonilla Rubio com a defensors dels majors, representant, a partir del dia de hui, al col\u00b7lectiu en els diversos actes que es desenvolupen durant l&#8217;any vinent. El punt i final a la jornada arribar\u00e0 aquesta vesprada de la m\u00e0 de l&#8217;agrupaci\u00f3 musical\u00a0Els\u00a0Majors de L&#8217;Horta\u00a0Sud, que oferir\u00e0 un concert gratu\u00eft, a les 18:30h, en la seu de la Uni\u00f3 Musical de Torrent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cVull donar les gr\u00e0cies a totes les persones que ens han acompanyat en el dia de hui. Per a nosaltres \u00e9s molt important que els nostres majors se senten tan valorats i importants com mereixen, per la qual cosa hem tractat d&#8217;oferir-los un reconeixement a l&#8217;altura de les circumst\u00e0ncies. I la gent ha respost de la millor manera possible\u201d,<\/strong> comenta el regidor d&#8217;Atenci\u00f3 a les Persones Majors, Arturo Garc\u00eda. Per part seua, l&#8217;alcaldessa de Torrent, Amparo Folgado assegura que<strong> \u201cno podem entendre la nostra societat, ni tampoc qui som h<\/strong><strong>ui, sense totes eixes persones que han treballat per a donar-nos un futur i guiar-nos en aquesta vida. Mai podrem retornar als nostres majors tot el que ens han donat, per\u00f2 posarem tot el nostre esfor\u00e7 en intentar-ho\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery
